Captain Christy climbing

Captain Christy climbing, Ducher 1882

Climbing Hybrid Tea

Sport of Captain Christy

Looking more like a Bourbon, Captain Christy is a stunning rose. She's even more beautiful as a climber so it was good this sport was found by Veuve Ducher.

Big, pale, flesh pink, very full blooms borne mostly solitary in small clusters. They exude a strong Tea rose fragrance. If you didn't know better you would think it is a Bourbon or Hybrid Perpetual but no, it's really a Hybrid Tea.
The big light green foliage is reasonably healthy. The climbing version can reach up to 4 meters or 12 feet. Heat and shade tolerant but with these big full blooms she doesn't like the rain. They don't ball but the petals get brown during long periods of rain.
Extremely beautiful as an Obelisk rose or on a pillar. The rose blooms in flushes throughout the season.
Often forgotten but during warm dry summers this rose is stunning! Zone 6b to 9b
