Le Jardinier des roses

Le Jardinier des roses, Jérôme Rateau

Introduced by André Eve in 2017

Portland Hybrid

The generous gardener X Mme Boll

An extraordinary achievement this Le Jardinier des roses. A modern, new Portland is so exciting.
The rose has many features of her mother Mme Boll but also from her other Austin parent The generous gardener.
She's a bushy, typical Portland rose and can get 120X100 cm or 4X3 feet. Foliage is very Portland-ish. End of spring the buds appear in small clusters opening into gorgeous light pink full blooms. They remind us of Mme Boll yes but then they also look like Generous gardener. Strong Damask fragrance. In good Portland tradition this rose also repeats very good with at least three to four flushes. Health is excellent!
Zone 5b to 9b and also loves cooler sites. Very suited for pot culture.

A magnificent new addition to the Portland family. Available at André Eve nursery

Mme Solvay

Madame Solvay, André Eve 1992

Rambler

Étendant (Red New Dawn) X Phyllis Bide (Polyantha)

A magnificent rambler and a sight to remember when in full flush.

Cerise 🍒 Pink, semi double, big blooms in small clusters. Mild fragrance. When in bloom she's totally covered with flowers. Grows up to 600 cm or 18 feet. Glorious against an old wall or façade where it can be spread open. Zone 6b to 10b

Named after the granddaughter of Ernest Solvay, one of the most prominent Belgian industrials

Capitaine dyel de Graville

Capitaine dyel de Graville, Boutigny 1905

Bourbon

Sport of Souvenir de la Malmaison

A magnificent pink sport of the famous Souvenir de la Malmaison. Blooms are the same perfect quality and fragrance but in deep pink. Mike Lowe of Lowe's roses says Capitaine dyel de Graville is more vigorous than it's parent. He says it's the best small Bourbon. Suitable for pot culture. For Bourbons and Malmaison fans a must have.
Named after a soldier that died in the French/German war of 1870
