Big, semi double, Apricot /pink and peach flowers in great abundance, that's Coraline. Popular in France till this day and also in other European countries she's not rare to find. 

It's a typical climber of its age with semi double, large blooms which keep several days. Hélas, they are almost scentless but the blooms and overall effect is stunning. 

Makes a strong, vigorous shrub or climber up to 300 cm or 9 feet. Foliage is very healthy. Blooms are rain and heat resistant and she can take some shade. Zone 6b to 10b

A climber from the Disco era, the seventies, when the most ugly roses were created. Coraline is an exception, with her big, pastel colored flowers she enchants your garden all summer long and a big piece into autumn. 

If you don't mind the lack of fragrance then Coraline is is your rose!

A rising star in the climbers category but she's also suitable as a large shrub. 

Large, semi double, peach/apricot/light pink flowers slowly fading into Cream. The golden stamen are prominent and add to her beauty. These flowers stand in rather big clusters and appear all summer and autumn long. Mild wild rose fragrance.

It's a stiff growing rose so she's not suitable for pergola's or arches but ideal for pillars. A bit like Scent from heaven from Warner. She can reach 3 meters or 9 feet but if you prune her a bit harder she's also very beautiful as a large shrub.

Extremely healthy and impenetrable to disease this Checkmate is a true rose of the next generation. Zone 5b to 9b. Rain, heat and shade tolerant. The blooms also attract lots of bees so it's also an eco rose.

Soft pink to apricot, double, rather large flowers in small clusters. Quite big blooms with a nice fresh fragrance. The lightest wind makes the petals move like butterflies 🦋, very magical. 

Blooms for a very long time way into September. Can get quite tall, up to 6 meters or 18 feet but can kept smaller. Not as vigorous as many ramblers but a soft rambling rose. Extremely healthy foliage. Zone 6b to 9b, rain and drought tolerant.

Deserves much more attention especially in the Netherlands and Flanders

Claire Renaissance X Abraham Darby 

A very underrated rose, especially in Western Europe. In Eastern Europe, Ukraine and Russia this rose is immensely popular and very rightly so. 

This rose combines the healthy, very free flowering and fragrant features of Claire Renaissance with the unsurpassed blooms of Abraham Darby. Both being extremely fragrant it was written in the stars that Bienvenu would be equally fragrant.

Bienvenu can be bred as a climber and then it can reach 300 cm or 9 feet or you keep her shorter and she'll behave as a large shrub. She needs support in both cases as she produces masses of blooms.

These blooms are medium to large, pink and very full and old fashioned. They usually stand in clusters. The fragrance is really really strong, Old rose with citrus. 

Not often without blooms she will adorn your garden for months and her health is also top notch. Zone 6b to 9b, rain tolerant but loves full sun.

Sometimes i stumble upon a rose i really don't know. On vacation in France it happens a lot. When I see such a rose im not too scared to ask the owners which variety it is. Often they have forgotten or they never knew the name. 

Sometimes they do know and this was the case with Parure d'or from Delbard. 

We saw her growing against a yellow French stone wall. It was a hot beautiful sunny day and the flowers looked like smaller versions of Peace (Mme A Meilland) but in great abundance. When we walked towards it I noticed the flowers were golden yellow with carmine red. Some blooms had ruffled petals. They stood in clusters on a very vigorous plant. I guess it was 250X200 cm or 11X6 feet. The flowers had a lovely sweet fragrance. 

We knocked at the door and a typical French farmer opened the door. I said we loved his beautiful rose and if he knew it's name. Ahhh, ça c'est Parure d'or. He told us he bought it on the market in the seventies. According to him she blooms all summer and autumn and can take considerable heat and drought. He said he never pruned her, only removing dead wood. In 1990 a major storm had almost killed her but she recovered quickly.

I have to say I really love the look of this rose. Zone 6b to 10b 

I don't think she's available in the USA but I found her at several EU nurseries online

Fritz Nobis can be grown as a big shrub or as a good climber. In full flush this rose is a real sight to behold

Masses of big, light pink, flat, semi double flowers in small clusters appear each early summer and they keep opening for four weeks depending on the temperature. They have a delicious clove fragrance. 

Fritz Nobis is once blooming but this makes her extremely healthy and vigorous. If grown as a shrub she needs space so as a solitair she's perfect and as a hedge is also a good option. Very beautiful is she when she can climb on an arch or pergola. She can reach 250X200 cm or 11X9 feet or a bit more

Rain and shade tolerant this rose isn't fuzzy or high in demand. Don't prune the first three years, after that you can prune a bit to keep her in check but best is to let her do her own thing 

Fritz stood in my parents garden for 25 years next to Nevada and Margaret Hilling and each year it was a hedge in full color.
