Maebara's dream

Maebara's dream probably is Viru Viraraghavan most beautiful creation. A cross between the HT Carmosine and R. Gigantea gave a magnificent result. Normally a Hybrid Gigantea has single to double flowers but Maebara's dream has giant HT like flowers in a gorgeous cream white color with a hint of yellow in the center. The rose reaches six to seven meter. Once blooming for several weeks in April and early May.

Suitable for trees, arches, pergolas and small buildings. Zone 8b, very drought resistant

Florence Bower pink Tea

A few decades ago a gorgeous climbing Tea was found at an Historic stage stop. The woman who found it gave it to Florence Bower, an older lady with a big heart for Tea roses living in South Carolina. Eventually the rose went to Vintage gardens. In the USA this rose can be purchased from a few nurseries but in Europe she was absent for a long time. This changed when Davide Della Libera from Novaspina roses in Italy got grafting material from this beautiful climber and each year he can make a few rose lovers very happy. I'm one of those rose lovers and Florence Bower pink Tea will come to me this November.

Let's take a look at this beautiful rose: We are talking about a climbing Tea with the same growing power as Souvenir de Mme Leonie Viennot. The more you prune the more vigorous she gets with plenty of shoots. This sounds very non Tea like but she's one of the few exceptions to the rule as many climbing Teas and Teas in general don't like hard pruning at all.

Up to 4 meters easily or 12 feet which makes her suited for almost any climbing purpose. Ranging from arches, pergolas, very big obelisks or even fruit trees. I've read she's extremely beautiful when she can cascade from a wall. The rose is very thorny! When you prune hard she will react with tall arching shoots so be careful

Flowers are big and up to 9cm in diameter. They are full, light pink with deeper pink towards the center. They slowly turn very light pink with aging. Petals drop cleanly. Fragrance is moderately Tea with Bourbon

This rose really does bloom in flushes and every flush has a good amount of flowers. From late spring to mid fall the flowers keep appearing. 

A friend of mine says this rose doesn't seem to bother about shade, not even deeper shade, she always blooms. 

There has been a lot of speculation about the parentage and Mme Lambard has been suggested as a parent but that's pure guessing.

As a climbing Tea she definitely needs a minimum of Zone 7b and higher and probably 8b to be sure. Flowers are rain and heat resistant as she can withstand summers in the Veneto, Emilia Romagna and Umbrian regions

Ladevèze Safron Tea Noisette

Ladevèze Safron Tea Noisette was found by John Hook in the French city of Ladevèze. It is a very vigorous climbing Tea Noisette in the style of Rêve d'or but the flowers are much bigger and the color is deeper and warmer buff copper. She reblooms all summer and can get four meters or more (12 feet). Zone 7b to 9b.

A magnificent find and she deserves to be grown much more
