Thierry Marx

Thierry Marx, Delbard 2019

Floribunda

Parents unknown

Dedicated to Thierry Marx, the top Chef at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Paris.
It's a very Sumptuous, old fashioned flower with violet purple petals which are lighter at the reverse. Very full, many petaled flower. A strong citrus and old rose fragrance is present. It's the perfect rose for bouquets.

Thierry Marx is a rather short bush that will reach 80X80 cm or 3X3 feet. The foliage is bit, dark green and glossy. She's armed with many thorns. Very healthy and reliable reblooming skills. Zone 6b to 9b. Rain proof.

Delbard only releases a few new creations each year but they always are gorgeous and worth the wait.

Thierry Marx will make hearts beat stronger...

Vichy

Vichy, Delbard 2011

Floribunda

Parents unknown

A rose that deserves much more attention.
Very cupped, ball shaped, white with light blush in the center blooms. They stand in clusters of five or six on upright, sturdy branches without tipping over. Scent is strong, nutty with lemon and grapefruit notes, refreshing.
A well balanced, medium size shrub of approx 100 X 80 cm or 3X3 feet. Bushy and with rather dark green healthy foliage. Ideal for borders and especially pots. Combines well with perennials in most colors. Heat and rain tolerant, zone 6b to 9b

Vichy reminds me of the more early English roses from David Austin, before they started to produce only more of the same mediocre roses.
Vichy is highly recommended

Gene Boerner

Gene Boerner, Eugene Boerner before 1966

Floribunda

Seed: Ginger
Pollen: Ma Perkins X Garnette Supreme

Papa Floribunda bred this rose a few years before his death and Jackson & Perkins decided to name it after him. Eugene Boerner was of huge importance in the development and creation of Floribunda roses. Gene Boerner won the All American Rose Selections award. In total Eugene would win six of them

Gene Boerner has the look of a grandiose Tea or HT rose. Her flowers are Neyron pink, very double, high centered with petals scrolling back, in my opinion the most beautiful rose bloom shape. They have a mild tea fragrance.
Size: 120X100 cm or 4X3 feet. Can be used as a border rose, in beds, a hedge and in pots. Extremely disease, rain and heat resistant. Some say she's indestructible.

White Gene Boerner is a very pale, flesh pink sport. Equally as beautiful as her mother.
