Bourbon
Bourbons are probably the most popular of all the old rose families and it's not strange to see why that it: They have big, very fragrant flowers, can be used as large shrubs or as climbers and they rebloom, a feature many rose lovers want.
Most nurseries have the same Bourbons and the more specialized have a few more. Only a handful have an extended collection like Jérôme Chêne from Loubert roses. He has almost 30 Bourbon varieties.
One of them is Prince Napoléon, a beautiful rose bred by Jean Pernet in 1864 but today rather hard to find.
Deep pink, very full blooms in small clusters. They have the typical strong Bourbon fragrance.
It's a vigorous rose which can reach 180 cm or 6 feet. Blooms in flushes throughout the season. She reminds me of Bourbon Queen with almost the same features. Zone 5b to 9b
