Orfeo

Orfeo, Jan Leenders 1963

Climbing HT, red large flowered climber

Curly pink X Guinée

A climber that needs much more attention. There is only one handful of deep red, very fragrant climbers and it's a shame that Orfeo is often completely forgotten

Orfeo has the best genes; Curly pink had Crimson glory as a parent and Guinée is Arguably the most magnificent red climber but a bit sensitive to cold winters. The outcome of the cross couldn't be better.

Large, very double, red to deep red flowers with a very strong Damask fragrance. Climbs up to 4 meters or 13 feet and is suitable for pergola's, trellis, obelisks, walls etc...
Healthy is extremely good and she's much more Hardy than Guinée. Zone 6b to 9b
Reblooms in flushes throughout the season

Rather difficult to find in Europe, easier in the USA. In Europe a Danish nursery sells her but she was already sold out this season. Try to get her!
