Treasure Trove

Treasure Trove, Treasure 1977

R. Filipes Hybrid, Scrambler

R. Kiftsgate X Hybrid Tea? Hybrid China? Buff Beauty?

A very welcome color palet in the section of rampant scramblers and ramblers. Treasure Trove bears clusters of double to very double medium sized blooms in the extraordinary colors apricot /pink/copper and white. This wasn't seen before. They have a very strong lovely fragrance. Rampant, Kiftsgate like growth up to 20 meters and more or 60 + feet. Shade tolerant. Zone 6b to 9b. Long experts thought that Buff beauty was the other parent but now doubt has risen. Some say the other parent was a China. Old blush? Or a Hybrid Tea? Fact remains that the rose was found underneath a Kiftsgate plant and that Buff Beauty was also grown in the garden. Does it matter? No but we rosarians love to know ALL.
A magnificent rose for purposes which require the full force of the Filipes genes!
