Paul's Himalayan musk X Constance Spry
Mieke Vanlommel was found on a Dutch nursery next to Paul's Himalayan musk. When the blooms opened they looked like little Constance Spry miniatures which was growing next to the Paul's Himalayan musk mother plant.
Mieke is a giant rambler and can grow three meters in one year. Eventually she can reach 10 meters or more. The blooms are cupped, Strong pink and show their stamens. They stand in large clusters. They have a strong sweet fragrance. Blooms for a long period in early summer. Very disease resistant and zone 6b to 9b
Mieke Vanlommel had a leather shop in Leuven for years. She sold her quality outdoor /gardening stuff also on plant fairs in Belgium and France. She was very beloved by many. She died in 2016. Her friends chose this rose to wear her name as a tribute.
