Bathsheba, Austin 2012
A beautiful offspring from the Leander group, my favorite David Austin group. Charles Austin, Leander, Crown Princess margareta and also this Bathsheba.
The blooms are very pretty: rosettes in a yellow, orange to apricot color with white edges. It's a vigorous climber and can reach 350 cm. It's very beautiful on a trellis or fence or obelisk. Again a combination with clematis is gorgeous.
The scent is a strong honey mihrr.
Reblooms all summer. I don't know how it's health is so many members can tell us about that.
She replaced Crown Princess Margareta at the Austin UK website. I find Crown Princess Margareta a wonderful rose with the most strong tea fragrance. It's sad she got canceled. But she's still widely available in Europe and I don't think she will be forgotten.
But if you want a replacement then Bathsheba is your rose!
