A fabulous Hybrid Tea which reminds us of big magnolia flowers.

I have watched this rose closely because she grows in my aunties garden.

We went rose hunting in 2003 on a hot day in June. At the garden center we saw Isabelle Autissier in full flush. She had these very big filled blooms in the colors white /peach /yellow /apricot. So delicate and refined. But the fragrance was even better! So we took three. It was at that day she purchased Zepherine Drouhin. On our way home, in the countryside, her car started to shake. When she pushed the gas the car went forward but after two seconds he stopped and again and again. My auntie looked at me: Dirk! What's this? Help! Thankfully we laughed like hell instead of panicking. Mmm it looks if we are out of gas and riding on fumes I said. No that's not possible she said, look at the gas gage, it's full!

Mmm yeah, but it is a seventies old timer Ford so? Thankfully we saw a farm in the distance so we shaked our way to the farm with my auntie still screaming 😱 with every shake lol.

We stopped and saw the two sons of the farmer. Can you guys help us? Sure! What's the problem? I told what was wrong and they went inside to get a plastic tube. He opened the tank and put the tube in. It came out completely dry. Fumes it was! How's that possible, my gage says.... Yeah auntie it's broken I said. The boys gave us two liter of diesel they used for their tractors. So we could resume our trip home. The gas gage was fixed a week later 😂

So Isabelle Autissier reminds us always of that road trip.

But yes, she still has Isabelle. They are so beautiful and fragrant. Never sick and beautiful rounded shrubs. They can reach 120 cm if you only prune lightly. So she's suitable for pots.
