Ashram

Ashram, Tantau 1998

Hybrid Tea

My auntie said today: Tell them about Ashram! Tell them how good she is.
Well so here we are 😊. Auntie bought Ashram together with me in early 2000. We wanted Just Joey for her but good old Joey was sold out. Then we saw Ashram and it looked very much like Joey. Very large salmon /orangy blooms and fruity fragrance. We talked to the shop owner and he said come with me. We went to his private garden and there were twenty Ashrams combined with light blue geraniums and delphiniums. My God how beautiful. She reblooms all summer and never gets sick the man told us. Auntie immediately sniffed the open flowers and said: Peach with lemon. I want her she said. We took 5
That was in 2000 and now it's 2022. Each February I went to auntie to prune her roses. She always made a cake and after pruning we had coffee with her delicious cake. Each year I saw how good this rose actually was. Good strong bushy growth.
She can't part from Ashram, it's a child of her after all these years and when in full flush you know exactly why.

Consensus: Ashram is a Hybrid tea in the best sense possible. Good bushy growth, many big fragrant blooms all summer. Unlike so many ugly Hybrid teas the flowers keep their shape when opened. A reliable rose for years.
