La Reine

La Reine, Jean Laffay 1842

Hybrid Perpetual

Seedling of William Jesse

La reine or Queen (her name in Australia) has very big silvery pink flowers. They remind us of Mme Caroline Testout or Paul Neyron. Very puffy and ball shaped. Their fragrance is strong, especially on warm June days. The flowers stand in small clusters.
Foliage is light green and the growth is quite vigorous as are nearly all HP's. She can reach 150X120 cm or 5X4 feet so you can give her some support if you want her to climb a bit.

La reine blooms in flushes throughout the season with a very beautiful autumn flush. Zone 5b to 9b. Only prune if really necessary. The flowers are rain resistant.
