We've seen so many white climbers but one of the very best and most beautiful was almost forgotten. Almost because here she is: Ilse Krohn superior
When seeing those exquisite white petals unfold you might think it's a climbing Hybrid Tea but no, it's a Hybrid Kordesii which means she's very very hardy and strong. Ilse Krohn superior is the most popular white climber in Germany for decades and can you blame them? Typical HT buds unfolding in the best Tea fashion and finishing as the perfect HT flower. Her color is white with a buff shading in the center. When she's totally opened you can see her golden stamen. She has a strong delicious fragrance. She looks like Swan lake but is higher and more floriferous. She can reach 300 cm or 9 feet and is Hardy zone 5b to 9b. Health is outstanding and she's rain tolerant. It's rather sad this rose is almost unknown in the USA and most parts of Europe. Time to meet her!
