DENTELLE DE MALINES, Lens 1986
Multiflora rambler
In my opinion one of the most beautiful creations of Louis. Dentelle de Malines is part of a threesome. It's the first in the Dentelle series. Dentelle means Lace in English and kant in Dutch/Flemish. Malines is French for Mechelen, a large city near Antwerp, famous for its lace. So the name means Lace from Mechelen.
Louis Lens crossed R. Filipes with a Hybrid Multiflora: Robin Hood. The result is nothing more than stunning. Thousands of little rosettes in clusters in the colors white and pink. It reminds us of Paul's Himalayan musk but even more beautiful. Again they have the fragrance of R. Filipes. Can be used as a very large schrub or even as a rambler. 5 X 5 meters or more No diseases.

Consensus: The first in the Dentelle series and often regarded as the most beautiful. An incredible beauty and a sight to behold when in full flush. Thank you Louis!
