Capri

Capri, Tantau 2014

Hybrid Tea

A rose friend from Ukraine 🇺🇦 had David Austin roses for years and he especially loved Yellow roses. So he had Charity, Charlotte, Charles Darwin etc..
He told me he was very disappointed in them. They had few blooms, always fell over (the (un) famous flopping) and were rather prune to Blackspot. In 2018 I told him to try Capri from Tantau, Diamand Jubilee from Boerner and Paul Ricard from Meilland. All yellow Hybrid Teas. He bought them and Capri seemed his favorite because of their old fashioned blooms which looked exactly like the Austin roses. Two years later he contacted me again via mail to thank me for my advice. The roses you recommended are thriving! I've never had such good yellow roses. They don't flop, keep blooming and don't get sick! Indeed, he loved them all but as predicted he loved Capri the most because of the old fashioned shape. Who knew that two years later Ukraine would be at war with the Russian criminals.
But back to Capri:

Deep yellow, almost golden, old fashioned blooms with many petals. They stand alone or in small clusters. Nice rounded shrub 100X80 cm or 3X3 feet and glossy healthy foliage. The blooms have a very strong fruity fragrance. Zone 5b to 9b
It is better than most Yellow DA roses.
