Prince Jardinier

Extremely popular and deservedly so. It's the ideal rose for beginners as it is incredibly healthy, reblooms like hell and has a strong fragrance. The blooms are light flesh pink but turn white with aging. They remind me of the blooms from Souvenir de la malmaison. Rain and heat proof.
A strong and vigorous grower and he can reach 130 cm easily so good for the back of your border or in pots. This summer I observed this rose from close by because I had three in pots waiting to get planted this fall. It rebloomed every three weeks, made new strong growth constantly and stayed incredibly healthy. Even in summer 2022, after four warm months with scorching temp, the foliage was pristine. I never saw that with a rose. These roses are the kind we need.
Everywhere the scent is described as very strong citrus. While it definitely smells it isn't as strong as let's say Chippendale. Also the citrus scent has this bitter note to it. I love it but if you want pure fresh lemon you should buy Pope JPII.
The flowers are often used in 💐 as a cut flower. Even buds which haven't opened yet go open in a vase. Very special.
For me it's a five star rose
