Empereur du Maroc, Guinoisseau-Flon 1854
Hybrid Perpetual
Regarded as the most dark red rose when it appeared. This lasted till Souvenir du docteur Jamain came out.
Of course these very dark red roses needs afternoon shade so also Empereur du Maroc. Her blooms are huge, dark red turning even more dark with aging. Many petals, quartered bloom shape. Strong intoxicating damask fragrance. As a Hybrid Perpetual it makes long canes up to 250 cm or seven feet so it's idéal for pegging down or an obelisk. Very hardy zone 4b. Reblooms in autumn
