Bourbon climber / Climbing China Hybrid
Park's Yellow Tea scented China X Tuscany (Gallica)
A superb rose in all respects. Very large, rather flat, fully double, pink blooms with carmine pink darker center. Strong old rose fragrance. I think it's one of the best roses for wrapping around a pillar, old tree trunk, Obelisk or Tripod. The canes are rather thin and can be trained easily in any direction you want. I planted a specimen at my parents garden in 1996 against a dead big tree trunk. The first year she made long shoots upwards which I wrapped around the trunk as a spiral. This resulted in many lateral shoots to emerge. The next year she was filled with her magnificent blooms. Once flowering but it can take easily one month. Blairii nr 2 can reach 400 cm or 12 ft and is quite Hardy at zone 6b. A classic which deserves much more attention
