Wichuraiana rambler
R. Wichuraiana X Beauté de Lyon (Pernetiana)
Dr Van Fleet gave us famous and good roses like Dr. W. Van Fleet, the rambler that got New Dawn as a sport
Breeze Hill is less known but my God she deserves renewed attention.
Blooms are very light pink with an apricot and golden shading. They are very full and when fully open they are rosette shaped. They remind me of the Austin rose St Swithun. By now you guys know that nearly all Wichuraiana Ramblers have blooms carrying the smell of ripe apples and Breeze Hill is no exception. Her main flush is extremely beautiful and in late summer, early autumn she has a moderate rebloom.
Like all Wichuraiana ramblers Breeze Hill is quite tall, reaching 6 meters or 18 feet and maybe a bit more. She has many thorns. Health is good, it's a reliable rose. Zone 5b to 9b. Can take partial shade.
