Rhapsody in Blue

Rhapsody in Blue, Warners 2000

Modern hybrid

The most "Blue" rose to date. Rhapsody in Blue is a major stunner and to me it's blue so it's very very welcome in the border to combine with red and pink perennials.
Double purple blooms slowly fading into slate blue and all colors in between. The flowers appear in clusters and keep coming non stop. Never without blooms. Quite strong grower because it can reach 200 cm against a wall or trellis or obelisk but normally it's 100 X 50 cm or 3 X 2 feet. Zone 6b to 9b. Susceptible to Blackspot.
Important: Doesn't like warmer climates, loves cool summers. Strong clove /spice fragrance. A curious rose!
