Louis Lens was the first who started to cross the Hybrids Multiflora (Hybrids Musk) with the rampant power of R. Filipes aka Kiftsgate. Pleine de grâce is one of those early achievements and it was an immediate success. Ave Maria, gratia plena... Hail Mary, full of grace...
Indeed, this Pleine de grâce is full of white, virgin like grace. Clusters of medium single white flowers with yellow stamens. Good pervasive scent. The vigorous plant is covered with those clusters. Still, the rose keeps a lovely domed shape as if it's a giant Hybrid Multiflora. The power of Filipes was tamed into an incredible rounded shrub. She can reach 400 X 400 cm or 12 X 12 feet. After her main flush she starts to produce thousands of small hips, a beautiful autumn display. Extremely healthy and resistant against blackspot. Zone 6b to 9b. Our group member Roger Willeghems has her in his rose jungle. The pictures are mainly his! A highly recommended rose!
