Hybrid Tea
Tantau is my favorite German rose breeder and with Aphrodite he shows us once again why
Roses shouldn't only look beautiful in highly pimped glossy pictures for advertising, they should always look good, especially in bad weather. Yes we sometimes keep roses for their Outrageous beautiful flowers although they can't handle much rain or heat but usually we choose our roses based on their ability to stand their ground in bad conditions. A queen is always elegant and beautiful, even in rough conditions.
Aphrodite is such a rose, named after the Goddess of Love, she's always charming.
Powdery pink quartered blooms standing upright on strong short stems. Nice glossy dark green foliage. Rounded little shrub of 80X80 cm or 3X3 feet. Throw rain at her or heat or wind... her blooms will hold up proudly. Reblooming is terrific and her health is up to the current standards. The blooms last for a long time so they are very suitable for the vase. Mild, spicy fragrance.
Zone 6b to 9b. I noticed she's available in NZ too so good news for our kiwi hobbit members!
