American pillar

American Pillar, Van Fleet 1902

Wichuraiana rambler

A once extremely popular rose and I've heard it's making a comeback in the USA.
Large clusters of small carmine pink with white center single blooms. They show their stamen. No fragrance. Once summer blooming in great abundance. Can reach 700 cm or 21 feet. Zone 4b to 9b. Shade and drought resistant but susceptible to mildew. For gazebos, pergolas, arches and even trees.
