Officinalis

Officinalis, before 1500 AD

Gallica
Rose of House Lancaster

Officinalis or the apothecary rose is in cultivation for centuries. Mankind and Officinalis go hand in hand. Officinalis was the red rose of the English royal house of Lancaster. She was used as medicine, beauty, worship etc. In medieval times and till late in the 19th century every monastery or abbey had this rose growing in their gardens.
Double fushia pink flowers with golden stamen. The blooms stand on strong upright canes. Attracts lots of pollinators and has a nice old rose fragrance. Blooms in summer for weeks and sets a lot of hips. Dimensions: 100X125 cm or 3X4 feet. Very healthy and reliable. One of the best Gallica's and one of the best roses ever. If you have some space left? Buy her. Highly recommended
