Madame Alfred Carrière

Madame Alfred Carrière, Schwartz 1875

Noisette /Tea Noisette

One of the most popular Noisette roses and one of the most popular climbers. Madame Alfred Carrière can reach gigantic proportions, especially for a reblooming climber. 7 meters or 21 feet or even more. So make sure you give her space! But can't I prune her? NO! She HATES pruning so really DON'T. Just let her be. Her fame comes from her very big, very double globular blooms. They are white with a light pink shading in the center. Once opened they are very puffy which gives her a baroque touch. The blooms smell moderate or strong depending on the weather. Some friends say moderate and others say strong, people I can trust. Her biggest pro is her reblooming skill, once she starts she keeps going all summer long well into September and Oktober. She's suitable for a North facing wall but definitely avoid a windy position as it will trigger mildew.
She's healthy but susceptible to mildew if in the wrong windy place. No blackspot. Zone 6b to 9b
In my opinion she's the best and most beautiful large growing white climber or do I need to say reblooming rambler?
Buy her if you have the space and if you like a white baroque Queen.
