Hybrid Multiflora/ Hybrid Musk
An outstanding rose in all respect and still very desirable. Because of her considerable proportions, 150X300 cm or 5X10 feet, she can be used for many purposes: A large rounded shrub, as a hedge, as a climber and in pots. Her parents are unknown but we can presume that Trier or Aglaïa was a parent and that the other was a Hybrid Tea. Pemberton did it before with "Felicia" which Cornelia strongly resembles.
Flowers are in clusters and in de colors peach/pink and apricot with a yellowish center. They are very double and of medium size during the first flush. The scent is sweet and clove like, very fresh and delicious.
The great power of Cornelia lies in her ability to produce well into September and that by then this Autumn flush is truly magnificent. Clusters and flowers are much bigger, colors more vibrant and the smell is quite pervasive. No other Hybrid Perpetual blooms this beautiful in Autumn. Can withstand rain and cold but also heat. Zone 6b to 10b.
Her sister Felicia always got the highest credit but to me they both deserve first place. Try Cornelia, you won't be disappointed
