Modern Climber / Big flowered rambler
A magnificent rose to say the least. Only Mme Isaac Pereire can Trump Alchymist for being opulent.
Big, quartered golden, yellow, peach, Apricot, orange, copper and all in between shades blooms. Once flowering but it lasts for six weeks. Strong, sturdy growth armed with many thorns. She can easily reach five meters or 18 feet. Her fragrance is debatable, some say strong fruity fragrance but in my garden I can only detect a mild to moderate apple fragrance. It's an ideal rose for against a wall, trellis, obelisk, fence or even a small old fruit tree. It doesn't gets better than this rose.
She's healthy but can get some mildew but never serious. I haven't seen blackspot but some say it can appear in August but it's a once flowering rambler so it doesn't matter much.
